OUR PROGRAMS

Academic and Career Development Forum (ACADEF)

Launched in 2011, this one-day program regroups youths from various backgrounds and drills them on various issues surrounding their personal development, career orientation and socioeconomic empowerment. Essentially a capacity building forum, ACADI motivates youth to take active part in nation-building, by engaging them in dialogue and group discussions on proposing practical solutions to problems about youth unemployment and academic orientation. ACADEF is a bi-monthly seminar held at the ACADI workshop lab.

In 2012, ACADI launched Academic and Career Development Caravan (ACADEC), an operation that witnessed tours to several school campuses and youth gatherings, to sensitize youths and engage them in personal career planning, alongside peer counseling sessions on academic orientation and life goals. Since then, over 5,000 youths have been reached both in schools and congregational settings.

Youth Enlightenment Forum (YEF)

In 2012, ACADI engaged with some partner youth organisations to host a number of high profile youth empowerment annual conferences at the regional level, which over the years, have witnessed the participation of more than 200 youths from various backgrounds, through personal development motivational and practical life-skill development interventions – the focus being youth social entrepreneurship promotion.

Textile Transformation Program (TTP)

Launched in 2017, the TTP involves the collection and transformation of textile waste from fashion designing workshops into other usable items like; bed pillows, cushions for chairs and cars, wall marts, classroom dusters, with the goal of reducing environmental pollution, while creating useful employment to young underserved fashion and designing trainees. The project currently provides free training in fashion and designing for youths.

Computer Literacy

Since 2012, ACADI offers free computer literacy training for youths, in order to improve on their access to the modern multimedia world. ACADI has recorded more than 50 laureates in this ongoing program.

Recours

In 2015, ACADI launched an ongoing interest-free micro-credit scheme (Recours) that provides financial help and skills to young people, enabling them initiate and push forward their entrepreneurial ideas. Several young people have gained access to ICTs (telephone and computer) through the scheme and 02 motorcycles have been bought for some individuals.

Career Development Institute (CaDI)

In 2017, CaDI was launched to provide basic training in entrepreneurship, community health intervention, leadership, as well as serve as a hub for the promotion of careers to the underserved people and especially, school dropouts. CaDI is an ongoing project of ACADI that is also responsible for research and development in the organisation. CaDI is an innovative solution to the Cameroonian unemployment problem, which is geared towards promoting a culture of hard work, volunteerism and entrepreneurship in order to facilitate the emergence process of Cameroon as a nation. 

Health Sector Partnership Strategy (HSPS)

The Cameroon Health Sector Partnership Strategy is a systematic approach that seeks to harmonize and coordinate health stakeholders in their strive towards the improvement of health standards of her population.  In this vein, since 2015, ACADI is involved in sensitization on community health issues centered on hygiene, nutrition, sexual behavior, and the utilization of the health care services. ACADI assisted in a community survey on access to primary health care, and recorded great success in terms of engagement of community in access promotion.

I-Connect

Launched in January 2017, I-Connect promotes youth employment by building capacities of young job-seekers, identifying opportunities, networking with job-providers, and facilitating their engagement. This is done by providing counseling, as well as useful information that fosters youth insertion. ACADI runs an active social media platform where hundreds of youth get daily updates on opportunities, with practical assistance.
